Laser Vein Treatment
Our state-of-the-art laser system can be used to enhance your complexion by removing visible veins, damaged capillaries and general redness.

How does Laser Vein Treatment work?
â
Broken capillaries, blood vessels and spider veins appear naturally as part of the ageing process. They affect the face and chest and can be caused by genetics, as well as internal and external factors.
â
We use a Candela Gentle YAG laser and an expertly trained laser aesthetician to treat visible veins and blood vessels. This safe and effective treatment procedure is the fastest way to diminish skin imperfections and create even skin tone.
We recommend 3 treatments at 6 weekly intervals. However, some clients can see instant results from our non-invasive treatment.

What are blood vessels?
â
The blood vessels in your skin are normally invisible. Below your skin there are channels to pump blood throughout the body. When veins are close to the surface of the skin and when your body is not able to pump blood as efficiently as it should, it is often possible to see the blood vessels on the face and neck. The smaller, visible blood vessels are often called “spider veins” because they look like tiny, blue or red spider webs spreading out beneath the skin.
The medical name for spider veins is “telangiactasias“ and they are also often called broken vessels or capillaries, even though the veins themselves are not broken.
Women are more likely to be affected by spider veins. However, men can get spider veins too. In fact, 50% percent of male and female adults have some form of spider veins. Whilst they do not usually cause any medical problems, spider veins can be embarrassing, particularly when they are visible on the face. They tend to make the skin look blotchy and discoloured red.
Our advanced laser system can help reduce or irradicate spider veins and help improve skin tone and colour, by making the visible veins fade over time.
Laser procedure
â
Our laser blood vessel treatment is relatively gentle and minimally invasive. It is a walk-in walk-out quick treatment.
Special lasers are used to target unwanted veins and causing them to collapse. We use the light energy for our high precision laser system to produce targeted heat energy. The vessels are then heated by the laser light. Some clients can feel some mild discomfort when the vein is heated. It can be described as feeling like a slight pinprick sensation each time a vessel is targeted. Over time the destroyed spider veins are slowly absorbed by the body, causing them to fade.
â
Treatment generally takes less than 30 minutes, though you will need a series of treatment sessions to achieve good results. The number of treatment sessions needed will vary from individual to individual, but the sessions are spaced at 4 to 6 weeks apart, regardless of the number required.
Enhancing your results
We work with you to obtain the best possible results for your skin.
We recommend that 2 weeks prior to treatment you carefully prepare your skin by the use of appropriate sun protection (SPF 50) and hydration. It is important that there is a cessation of all retinol application 3 days prior to treatment.
After your treatment, you need to continue to avoid sun exposure and avoid all exercise for 24 hours.
â
Post-Treatment
â
Due to the relatively gentle and non-invasive nature of the treatment, there is no formal recovery time required after each session. Patients can go back to their normal lives immediately, though we ask you to avoid sun exposure and avoid exercise for a short period. However, some patients may experience some redness and tenderness in the area treated. These minor discomfort symptoms decrease quickly, and normally do not affect day-to-day activities.
Frequent Questions
What are the causes of telangiectasias?
There are several risk factors for developing telangiectasias, and there seems to be a genetic factor for developing such venous skin problems. Risk factors include:
-
Fair skin
-
Excessive sun exposure
-
Rosacea
-
Hormonal changes
-
Family history
What should I do after laser treatment?
Following laser treatments of any kind, it is important to be especially diligent about sun protection. This is to prevent complications such as hyperpigmentation (skin darkening) being triggered by UV (ultraviolet) rays from the sun. Exercise should also be avoided for 24 hours post-treatment.
âWhy do I experience vein issues, and how does age affect spider veins for me?
âMany people who have trouble with blood vessels and spider veins start noticing initial problems between the ages of 18 and 35. However, age is a significant factor for the appearance of spider veins.
What kind of laser is used for blood vessel treatment?
ââThe most common laser used for treating blood vessels is a pulsed dye laser. It is safe to use on most skin types, and will be used by a qualified, expert laser aesthetician.
